3M to Support Drinking Water Treatment Technologies for City of Guin WWSB

ST. PAUL, Minn., and GUIN, Ala. – 3M and the City of Guin Water Works and Sewer Board released the following joint statement:

3M Company, Inc. (3M) and City of Guin Water Works and Sewer Board (GWWSB) are pleased to announce that they have reached a mutually acceptable agreement to address the presence of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in the Guin area. Through the agreement, 3M will contribute to the construction of new drinking water treatment plant that will increase capacity and employ new technology to provide state of the art treatment to drinking water supplied to GWWSB’s customers, as well as a new wastewater treatment facility. Both parties are grateful for the cooperation and collaboration to finalize this agreement. 3M is and will continue to be a valued member of the Guin community.
